Introduction
Stainless steel grade 436L is ferritic steel that has excellent oxidation resistance and corrosion testing compared to grade 409. The addition of molybdenum in this alloy enhances pitting resistance. It is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking in the presence of chlorides, and has excellent formability.
The following sections will discuss in detail about stainless steel grade 436L.
