Introduction
Super alloys are high performance alloys that are known for their excellent resistance to creep at elevated temperatures, superior mechanical strength, good surface stability, and good corrosion and oxidation resistance.
Super Alloy INCONEL 22 is a fully austenitic advanced corrosion-resistant alloy. Apart from providing good resistance to general corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, crevice corrosion, pitting, and intergranular attack, this alloy has the ability to resist aqueous corrosion and attack at high temperatures.

Fabrication and Heat Treatment
INCONEL 22 can be readily fabricated using the conventional processes applied for nickel alloys. The high ductility of this alloy allows easy cold forming. Work hardening of this alloy might require intermediate annealing. Welding processes that can be used are gas tungsten-arc, gas metal-arc, and shielded metal-arc processes.
