The i-Raman® EX spectrometer is part of B&W Tek’s award-winning range of i-Raman laboratory Raman systems and features a 1064-nm version of the company’s patented CleanLaze® excitation laser.
The laboratory Raman spectrometer uses a high-sensitivity InGaAs array detector with a high dynamic range and deep TE cooling and also features a high-throughput spectrograph design, thus delivering an excellent signal-to-noise ratio without causing autofluorescence. Thanks to these features, users can quantify an array of natural products, colored samples and biological samples, like cell cultures.
The i-Raman EX spectrometer offers a spectral coverage range between 100 and 2500 cm−1, enabling users to quantify the whole fingerprint area. The spectrometer has a lightweight design, a small footprint and consumes only minimal power, offering research-grade Raman capabilities anywhere.
The i-Raman EX spectrometer is supplied with an XYZ-positioning-stage probe holder and a fiber-optic probe. It can be utilized with many different sampling accessories to enable the measurements of different kinds of samples. The spectrometer can also be used with B&W Tek’s proprietary BWIQ® multivariate analysis software or with BWID® identification software.
With the i-Raman EX spectrometer, users can easily achieve a high-precision quantitative and qualitative Raman solution without fluorescence.

Software
Software packages from B&W Tek provide solutions to meet the needs of Raman applications. Simple data management, robust calculations and easy-to-follow, user-friendly workflows are now available at the tips of users’ fingers.
B&W Tek includes the general spectroscopic software, called BWSpec® with each system for instrument control and data acquisition, such as real-time peak analysis and trending. The BWID® software is optional and has been optimized for quick detection and verification of materials with spectral libraries.
For Raman applications in controlled settings, BWID®-Pharma software supports FDA 21 CFR Part 11 Compliance requirements. The software portfolio from B&W Tek also includes a multivariate software package—BWIQ®—to enable a quantitative and qualitative analysis of spectral data.
The BWIQ® software includes chemometric techniques, like Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Partial Least Squares Regression (PLS) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) regression, extensive graphics for model interpretation and a complete suite of preprocessing tools.
