Signal Source
MTI’s 1510A portable signal generator and calibrator is considered to be perfect for testing the integrity of sensor signal conditioning electronics. This battery operated function generator, encased in a rugged high visibility shell with a spill proof keypad, is capable of being used in the field, laboratory or factory floor in order to simulate sensor signals. It simulates accelerometer, strain gauge, eddy current and other types of pulse, triangle, sinusoidal or digital pulse trains. The frequency response of the subsequent signal conditioning devices is tested by the sweep function.
A USB port permits remote control and programming of the unit. It is possible to program this signal source generator in order to generate two independent or synchronized signals of different standard signal waveforms (SINE, SQUARE, PULSE and TRIANGLE) and varied frequencies up to 100 kHz. A Channel B provides speed synthesizer signal functionalities such as, odd pulse, sweep function and single pulse.
Features
Designed for cabling and wiring troubleshooting, machinery speed signal simulation, audio signal simulation, low-voltage bridge mode (microvolt DC output) sensor signal simulation and gas turbine maintenance, the 1510A is capable of producing precise and accurate voltage, charge, and speed signals essential for system troubleshooting, calibration and testing.
- Voltage range: 0 to 9.99999 Volts pk
- Voltage accuracy of 0.05% ± 0.1 mV
- Handheld battery-powered
- Portability and features are popular for use among railroad signal servicing, test laboratories, power plant and many other laboratory uses
- Has a variable phase control to simulate machinery imbalance conditions
- It is also used to simulate low level medical EEG and EKG signals for calibration
- Highly accurate DC output can be used for calibrating electronic amplifiers’ gain settings such as strain gauge amplifiers
