International Syalons manufactures a number of advanced ceramic sialon immersion heater and riser tubes, which are widely used in the aluminium and non–ferrous molten metal handling industries.
Syalon foundry products have several advantages, including longevity, improved process reliability and cost-effectiveness in comparison with alternative low-grade materials.
Alternative materials include cast iron and refractory ceramics, silicon carbide and aluminum titanate. Sialon is an alloy of silicon nitride and offers superior thermal and mechanical properties.
Syalon 101 has become extensively used in non–ferrous molten metal applications due to its high strength, toughness, thermal shock resistance, corrosion resistance and its non–sticking nature when it gets in contact with aluminium and its alloys.
The most effective method of heating the melt in the aluminium processing industry is by an immersion heater tube. Syalon 101 tubes have excellent physical properties, which provide heating protection to elements.
A diverse range of heater/riser tubes is available, to a maximum outside diameter of 200 mm and maximum length of 1500 mm. The table below presents a selection of the tubes currently manufactured by International Syalons. Other types of tubes can also be manufactured as per customer’s requirements on request.
