Improved design from the inside out

The first step in the analysis process is to weigh the sample into a boat and then run it through thermal decomposition with oxygen or air flowing through it. After that, all of the mercury and leftover combustion products enter the catalyst section.

Here, the mercury species are reduced, trapped on a gold amalgamator, and then released into several measuring cells that are placed along the optical path of the spectrophotometer after interferences have been eliminated.

Even at the ppt level, accurate and precise mercury determination is made possible by the DMA-80 evo double beam's significant reduction of the signal-to-noise ratio, significantly improving the quantification limit.
