The ASTG Model 5000 Portable Gas Purity Monitoring System continuously measures the purity of the gases by analyzing their physical characteristics. In addition to assessing the temperature of the gas mixture, molar mass, thermodynamic characteristics, and the speed of sound in a resonant acoustic cell, gas purity is ascertained. This enables the Model 5000 to assess gas purity with an accuracy of roughly 0.1% up to 99.99%.

The Model 5000 monitors over 500 gases, including CO2, H2, SF6, N2, Ar, He, and O2. Data can be accessed by a 7” touch-screen panel or remotely via a digital interface. Users can also add gases to the data table. ASTG’s electrochemical sensors can measure H2O and O2 down to single-digit parts per million (ppm).

The system has a long-lasting battery, data logging/control software, analog and Modbus communication connections, and sample inlet/outlet ports. It comes in a sturdy pelican carrying case with a handle. This durable and portable design makes it suitable for many research applications, verification, and testing in diverse conditions.

The Model 5000 provides cost-effective analysis with consistent high performance and few maintenance requirements. The highly accurate measurement methods eliminate the need for frequent user calibration, allowing for long-term deployment. The Model 5000 analyzer combines laboratory-grade precision with mobility and versatility, making it suitable for various research and testing scenarios.

  • Maintenance-free design that functions without reference gases, consumables, filaments, optical sources, or GC columns
  • 304 High Pressure-rated Resonant Acoustic Sample Call (RASC)
  • There is no requirement for field calibration after factory characterization of the RASC
  • A large touch-screen user display that can be used in the physical measurement mode, binary gas mode, or gas purity mode

The standard Model 5000 has female NPT connectors that are 1/8”. Flexible hose fittings, NPT, VCR, VCO, and tube compression can all be interfaced with various stainless steel (SS) gas fitting adapters. The Model 5000 portable gas purity monitoring systems, which are specifically made for high purity (UHP) and corrosive conditions, have ¼” male VCR fittings that are welded in place.

To ensure they keep their integrity without leaks, units set up this way are tested for helium leaks. The acoustic transducer has a spiral of copper nickel-plated on a Kapton polyimide film. ASTG recommends that end users contact ASTG to assess the viability of an application for gases that might react negatively with copper or Kapton.

The Model 5000 from ASTG offers a cutting-edge feature to improve gas purity systems monitoring and research. It supports the analysis of more than 500 distinct gases and provides reliable performance in a range of settings, including labs, field operations, and mobile applications. The Model 5000, which is built for accuracy, stability, and mobility, uses less power and requires little upkeep.

Its sturdy design guarantees dependability in challenging settings, such as isolated and high-altitude areas. For research and monitoring needs, these characteristics offer unmatched precision and stability at an affordable price.
