The RAM II is a dual-channel FT-Raman module. It is the first add-on module that can be coupled to Bruker VERTEX Series multi range FT-IR spectrometers, using the spectrometer port comprising one input and one output. The module features maximum suppression of spurious fluorescence. The sample handling is extremely rapid and easy. The switching between the infrared and Raman is fully software-controlled.
The new RAM II module has a standard 1064 nm excitation source for utmost suppression of undesired fluorescence. The module can be configured with a dual channel option for an additional excitation line.
Sampling Flexibility
In order to ensure ultimate flexibility, the RAM II can accommodate a second laser and detection system, automated polarization accessory and two-fiber optic coupling ports. Other features include easy switching between 90° and 180° scattering geometry and defocusing optics, which is essential for colored samples that can be heated by the laser beam. The typical configuration of the RAM II includes a motorized sample stage for optimization of the sample position and a white light source to correct the spectra for instrument responses. Optional components include additional sampling accessories, such as automatic sample changers, and low- and high-temperature stages. The FT-Raman microscope RamanScope expands FT-Raman spectroscopy to samples in the μm size range.
Sensitivity
The RAM II offers a spectral range within 3600-50 cm-1 (Stokes shift). The standard diode-pumped, air-cooled Nd:YAG laser source (1064 nm) is totally software-controlled. The system can be equipped with either or both room-temperature InGaAs detector and a proprietary high-sensitivity Ge diode detector. The high-throughput optics and Bruker Optics unique liquid nitrogen cooled Germanium detector offer ultra-low signal detection with minimal noise, assuring excellent sensitivity. The long hold time of the refrigerant offers hassle free operation for periods up to a whole week.
