DuPont™ Krytox® lubricants recently were featured in the Business Week article "Saving Energy by Fighting Friction." The article noted that Krytox® “nonflammable lubricant could withstand tremendous heat” and could help extend the life of applications that operate under harsh conditions.
The article coincided with the launch of a new line of products for reactive gas service, the NRT series, designed to improve safety and reduce the complexity of lubricating equipment that has exposure to oxygen and other reactive chemicals. Unlike conventional lubrication technologies that use mineral oils and synthetics, the Krytox® NRT Series will not react with oxygen or chemicals such as chlorine, fluorine and bromine. As a result, Krytox® technology delivers extended equipment life and safe, non-reactive, nonflammable use with reactive gases.
“Reactive gas applications require lubricants that help provide safe operations,” said Susan Sotiropoulos, business manager, DuPont Performance Lubricants. “With the DuPont™ Krytox® NRT Series, we have drawn upon more than 40 years of experience in the industry to develop a line of non-reactive oils and greases that reduce the potential for explosion, fire and accelerated deterioration of lubricants, creating a safer and more productive workplace.”
