Analytik Jena UK will be holding a UK-based roadshow during July 2008 featuring the contrAA® series of High Resolution Continuum Source (HR- CS) atomic absorption spectrophotometers. The contrAA® series combines the simplicity of AAS with the speed and flexibility of ICP spectrometry by utilising a high resolution continuum light source in conjunction with a high resolution double Echelle monochromator for the first time in the technique.
The first opportunity to see the contrAA® series will be at the 14th Biennial National Atomic Spectroscopy Symposium, University of Sussex, Brighton, UK, 7-9 July 2008. This will be followed by roadshows in Brighton, Glasgow and Sheffield on 10th, 15th and 17th July 2008, respectively. This forms the UK section of a world-wide tour for these high performance instruments. Full details of the venues and how to book can be obtained from: http:// www.analytikjenauk.co.uk
The roadshows will feature a series of seminars as well as instrument demonstrations. Topics seminar programme will include: ‘a history of Atomic Spectroscopy through to continuum sources’, ‘fundamentals of HR-CS AAS’, ‘ASpectCS software for multi element analysis’,‘practical, routine flame and graphite furnace applications’ and ‘direct analysis of solids’.
The contrAA® series is available in flame only or a flame, hydride and furnace version. The novel HR-CS approach increases sample throughput, improves detection limits and reduces costs. Each sample can be analysed sequentially for each element instead of having to measure one element and then change lamps.
