Linde Gases, a division of The Linde Group, and a principle provider of gas applications and advanced melting and burner technologies to the global glass manufacturing industry, today announced its participation at GlassTec 2008 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The company’s theme for the exhibition, “Take off to new horizons” reflects the breadth and depth of Linde’s capabilities in providing innovative solutions to the glass industry. In addition to its innovative CGM(TM) glass melting technology, Linde will also be exhibiting its extensive range of COROX® burners suitable for a broad array of specific applications, its highly effective CARBOFLAM® surface coating technology and HYDROPOX®, Linde’s oxygen and hydrogen pre-mixing solution for high-end applications where glass surface quality is critical.
CGM(TM) is a unique oxyfuel boosting technology, which transfers more energy to the glass by positioning the burner vertically instead of horizontally to the batch surface. The resulting enhancement of heat transfer rate significantly increases furnace capacity and glass quality, improves thermal efficiency and reduces NOx emissions, a common air pollutant. Tests demonstrate that the combined effect of increased radiant heat transfer and enhanced convective transfer almost doubles the heat transfer rates of conventional burners.
“Linde works closely with its glass customers to develop next generation technologies and gas applications to drive more efficient, economical and environmentally friendly production processes. This event is a great platform for us to showcase some of these technologies,” says Hans Mahrenholtz, Head of Glass and Fibres Application Development, Linde Gases Division.
At GlassTec, Linde can be found at booth A42, hall 13, at Dusseldorf Exhibition Centre from October 21 to October 25, 2008.
