The new Porsche 911 Turbo S will feature Porsche’s ceramic composite brakes when it goes on sale later this year. The patented design offer superior performance under heavy braking situations, including fade resistant characteristics, as well as weighing in at less than half the weight of a steel analogue.
The 911 Turbo S will be available in either coupe or cabriolet forms and possesses improved performance thanks to larger turbochargers, tweaked intercoolers and an improved engine management system. The larger twin turbos raise maximum power to a staggering 450bhp, while torque is an amazing 620Nm.
while sharing the same 3.6 litre flat six as the 911 Turbo, the extra power that the 911 Turbo S develops have resulted in the need for s strengthened gearbox, which comes in 6 speed manual or 5 speed tiptronic options. Meanwhile, fuel consumption and emissions remain almost unchanged over the 911 Turbo.
If open top cruising, albeit at high speeds is more your fancy, the cabriolet features an electro-hydraulic roof that raises and closes in 20 seconds with the push of a button. In case you are really in a rush, the roof can be operated at speeds up to 50km/h!
