Imaging and Spectroscopy Supplier Experiencing Growth in the US Despite Economic Doom and Gloom

Andor Technology plc (Andor), a world leader in scientific imaging and spectroscopy solutions, are pleased to announce the sustained success of their United States operations.

In 2008, recognizing exposure to the scientific research markets and their funding cycles, Andor identified a target to grow OEM sales in the US. Part of this strategy called for increased investment in sales, production and support for OEMs to facilitate the increased volumes.

The strategy has proven successful, with the addition of a number of significant new OEM partners and increases in both sales and bookings in Andor’s other markets. One newly-won OEM account alone is expected to deliver nearly $3 million in incremental business during the Financial Year 2009.

Chris Calling, President of Andor US, said “Since commencing our US operations in 1997 with our regional headquarters in Connecticut, the company has experienced growth in all regions and in multiple research application areas and OEM segments. These recent OEM wins demonstrate a more secure balance of revenues between the research markets and OEM instruments sector. This creates even more opportunities for future growth, and we look forward to maintaining this momentum.”
