Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has launched an ATEX approved version of its proven in-line moisture sensor for hydraulic and lubricating systems. The MS300 has been certified as Intrinsically Safe Electrical Apparatus and offers, fast, reliable and accurate moisture detection in hazardous applications for effective preventative maintenance.
The latest MS300 and MS200 moisture sensors feature the capabilities of Parker’s successful MS100 model, with the ability to monitor and report Relative Humidity (RH) moisture content in oils, and making it easy for maintenance engineers to check if water contamination remains safely within the oil’s absorption range. The new units offer the additional option of programmable outputs to suit the needs of specific applications.
The MS200 moisture sensor is ideal for pulp and paper plants, marine hydraulics, power transmission and distribution, oil reclamation, industrial hydraulics, earth moving applications, and agricultural environments. The ATEX approved MS300 model is designed for use with category 1G equipment and can be used with galvanic isolators within specified electrical parameters. The MS300 can also be used in Zone 0 hazardous areas and potentially explosive atmospheres, where moisture sensors are typically not allowed without permits.
Both the MS300 and MS200 moisture sensors have four main output options of 0 to 3 Volts, 0 to 5 Volts, 1 to 6 Volts or 4-20mA, plus the addition of temperature. Other outputs can be programmed to meet individual user requirements.
