Sandvik to Close Plant in Denmark

As part of Sandvik’s ongoing programme aimed at reducing the number of production and logistics units, with an overall view to increasing efficiency, they will close their plant at Espergaerde in Denmark. Other reasons for restructuring focus around the company’s desire to concentrate on products with higher growth and potential.

The Danish plant produces cemented carbide seal rings and wear parts. Production from this facility will be transferred to Sandvik’s production unit in Barcelona, Spain and is due to be completed within 12 months. It will mean the loss of about 100 jobs in Denmark, while, 30 more will be created in Spain.
