Applied Chemical Laboratories, Inc., a pioneer in green chemical technology, has developed a highly effective, environmentally-friendly solvent formulated to remove epoxy and polyester resins from manufacturing equipment, work surfaces and production floors.
EpoxSol-GRIP is derived from Applied Chemical's proven EpoxSol solvent technology, which is recognized for its production-worthy performance in immersion cleaning applications.
EpoxSol-GRIP will dissolve cured and uncured resins at room temperature. It is virtually odorless and does not contain hazardous chemicals such as Acetone, MEK, or MIBK. Optimized for efficient and rapid cleaning cycles, EpoxSol-GRIP sticks to vertical surfaces when applied, thereby eliminating the need for repeated applications and extra man hours dedicated to cleaning. Faster cleaning cycles mean less down time on the production line and greater manufacturing productivity. Since EpoxSol-GRIP is fast-acting and non-volatile, less solvent is required than with traditional solvent cleans."
"The need to eliminate volatile organic compounds (VOC) and hazardous air pollutants (HAP) in the workplace is critical to meeting new environmental standards," said Shawn Sahbari, executive vice president of Applied Chemical Laboratories. "Responsible stewardship of the environment is key to Applied's business and EpoxSol-GRIP reflects this philosophy. Our ongoing commitment to protect the environment and natural resources is behind every product we make," concluded Sahbari. "EpoxSol-GRIP contains plant and bio-based materials which are inherently sustainable and free of petroleum-based intermediates."
The EpoxSol line of solvents covers a wide range of uses in composites manufacturing. Custom formulas can be provided for specific temperatures and methods of application, including immersion, wiping, and topical cleaning of equipment and tooling. EpoxSol-GRIP is available from stock in one and 5-gallon containers.
