The European Powder Metallurgy Association has launched an updated 'Metal Injection Moulding, A Manufacturing Process for Precision Engineering Components' brochure version from the original 2004 edition. The new 24-page booklet contains revised information on the Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) production process, technical guidelines, design techniques and new case studies. The booklet, created in partnership with the EPMA's EuroMIM sectoral group, highlights the benefits of using MIM components compared to other manufacturing processes, from the cost effectiveness of the MIM process, to the bespoke capabilities of MIM components, through to the dimensional accuracy and tailorisation that MIM components can provide.
'The new MIM booklet, available through the EPMA, provides a good basis of material on introducing the MIM process and the capabilities of designing with MIM. The booklet is intended to be relevant, easy to read and understand' explained Andrew Almond, EPMA's Marketing Manager. He went on to add 'The booklet is available in hard copy or digital versions, allowing it to be as versatile a reading material as possible'.
The launch of the EPMA's 2nd MIM brochure edition has also been timed to coincide with the EPMA's participation at this year's European Automotive Components Expo, Stuttgart, Germany 16-18 June. Hard copies of the MIM brochures will be available on the EPMA's and MIM Expertenkreis's exhibition stand #4232.
