Spartech Corporation, a leader in the development and design of green packaging materials, has received Material Content Certification for three products in the UltrosRenu line from one of the most respected green certification companies in North America, Scientific Certification Systems (SCS).
UltrosRenu 90 Clear, UltrosRenu 90 Blend, and UltrosRenu Blue Tint are "drop in" polyvinyl chloride (PVC) replacements designed for blister packaging, clamshells, display boxes and containers in the non-food, consumer, electronics and warehouse club packaging and industrial products markets. The sheet is produced with the industry's highest quality recycled PETG materials. SCS has certified that UltrosRenu 90 Clear contains a minimum of 90 percent pre-consumer recycled PETG content; UltrosRenu 90 Blend, a minimum of 50 percent, and UltrosRenu Blue Tint, a minimum of 42 percent.
"These certifications are the result of the hard work and team effort of our Evanston facility," said Bob Kaplar, national distribution manager for Spartech. "The team worked with manufacturing and our recycled feedstock suppliers to develop the process that met time stringent Scientific Certification Systems' approval criteria. Their hard work has been instrumental in our ability to grow our business with packaging companies looking for material alternatives for PVC films."
UltrosRenu 90 Clear, UltrosRenu 90 Blend and UltrosRenu Blue Tint will now bear SCS certificates and certification labels verifying Spartech's content claims and will be listed in the SCS Certified Products Database available online:
