Spartech Increases Production Capacity for Plastic Sheet and Roll Stock

Spartech Corporation - North America's leading supplier of rigid extruded materials - has expanded their Warsaw, Ind. custom sheet and rollstock manufacturing facility to increase production of Royalite, a general purpose and specialty sheet manufactured for a diverse group of customers in a number of different industries. Spartech has installed two new equipment lines to step up production of the facility's existing sheet and rollstock products and add capacity to produce rigid, recyclable PVC for storm doors, bathtubs and tub surrounds, shower stalls, and tanning bed covers.

"The move to expand the Warsaw facility strategically positions Spartech to seize opportunities in growth markets and ensure the company's future success," said Eric Lattanner, Spartech Royalite Product Manager. "The addition also allows Spartech to better serve its existing customer base and acquire customers in new markets."

Spartech's market-leading custom sheet and rollstock business provides raw materials for thousands of everyday products, ranging from signs to spas to refrigerators. The Royalite line produced in the Warsaw plant, contains a number of versatile sheets including the ABS sheet which, because of its ease of formability, increased durability and better weatherability, has replaced traditional metal materials for automotive parts; Royalstat, a static conductive and dissipative sheet used in the construction of many components for electronic and computer related components; a fire rated sheet which complies with the most common UL standards for flammability and smoke; and an aircraft grade sheet designed specifically to comply with stringent FAA guidelines for flammability, heat release, and smoke density generation.

In addition to increasing capacity in the Warsaw plant and producing materials for a broader range of clients, the expansion furthers the company's commitment to producing high-quality, sustainable thermoplastics.

"The rigid PVC sheet we produce at this plant is made of recycled content and is recyclable," Lattanner explained. "We grind scrap material from our manufacturers and use it in the production of new sheet and rollstock. There isn't a bit of scrap going to a landfill. Spartech is 100 percent committed to producing environmentally friendly, sustainable products. This is one more example of the company's pledge."
