Indentec Increases Accreditation for Calibration of Vickers and Knoop Test Blocks

During Indentec's last UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) ISO 17025:2005 quality assurance audit in August 2009, they successfully increased their accreditation for the calibration of micro Vickers and Knoop test blocks down to HV0.05 and HK0.05 respectively. In order to achieve this Indentec designed and manufactured a "special" ZHµ MkII testing system with a Vickers and Knoop indenter and 4 objective lenses.

Indentec, the specialist hardness testing division of the Zwick Roell Group, are the only UKAS accredited supplier of Knoop test blocks.

Depending on future demand, Indentec are able to further increase the range of their certified blocks down to HV / HK 0.01 and HV / HK 0.025.

Micro Vickers test blocks are dual accredited to ISO 6507-3 and ASTM E384. Knoop test blocks are dual accredited to ISO 4545 and ASTM 384. This level of UKAS accredited certification is compliant with all international requirements such as Nadcap, Rolls-Royce, ISO 9001 etc.

The "nominal" hardness ranges are: 70, 150, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 and 800 HV or HK

The test loads include: 50, 100, 200, 300, 500 and 1,000 gf
