Micromeritics Announces New Webinar on Physical Adsorption Materials Characterization Technique

Surface area and porosity are important physical properties that influence the quality, utility, and handling of many materials, which often must be carefully engineered to perform specific functions. Differences in the surface area and porosity of material which otherwise may have the same physical dimensions, can greatly influence its performance characteristics. Therefore it is critically important that these characteristics be accurately determined and controlled.

Physical adsorption is a technique used to characterize the surface and pore features of solids, that is, the materials texture. The adsorption isotherm generated by the Physical Adsorption technique enables one to characterize a solids’ texture by determining its surface area, porosity, and total pore volume.
