Memry to Evaluate Super Elastic Titanium Alloy for Orthopaedics

Memry Corp have been selected by Connecticut Innovations Inc (CII) to participate in joint study programme with the University of Connecticut. They will use the study to evaluate and test new orthopaedic applications for their super elastic titanium alloy, patented in the US in 2001.

Memry will work with university scientists to test, optimise and understand the technology of the material, as well as exploring a range of different orthopaedic applications, that it is hoped will help to more widely commercialise the alloy.

The study, jointly funded by CII’s Yankee Ingenuity Technology Competition and Memry, will run for 2 years to the tune of $400,000.
