EcoBlu Products, Inc., (OTCBB:ECOB) announced today that it has been awarded a contract to supply all framing lumber components with BLUWOOD(TM) and FRC(TM) (Fire Retardant Coating) technology for the production homes being built by Heritage in the planned community of Otay Ranch in Chula Vista, California.
EcoBlu Products supplied the framing package for the models on Santa Rita and Casita De Avila projects in April, 2010. The follow on order represents a combined 16 lots consisting of approximately 325,000 board feet of lumber and will represent in excess of 222,000.00 dollars in revenue.
The first neighborhood, referred to as Casita De Avila, contains 61 lots with an average home size of 1,900 square feet. The second neighborhood, referred to as Santa Rita, is 55 homes with an average home size of 2,500 square feet. EcoBlu Products will begin shipping coated dimensional, I-Joist, Beams and Panel lumber in approximately 3 weeks to start the production framing. With homes' sales gaining momentum, we expect each neighborhood to release a combined 10 houses a month minimum, building great backlog for the company.
"I have been building homes for 30 years; now more than ever we are trying to differentiate our homes in today's market and still build a competitive product. EcoBlu Products is one of the latest innovations in our industry that provides protection to both my customer and company," said Steve Baldwin, CEO of Heritage Building and Development. "Many technologies are available today in the home building industry, however it is my feeling that EcoBlu Products is one that will be adopted industry wide," added Baldwin.
"We are extremely pleased to have the first production home builder in Southern California embrace our technology to protect their homeowners," said Steve Conboy, President and CEO of EcoBlu Products. "We believe that the value we bring to the homeowner and builder with EcoBlu's BLUWOOD(TM) and FRC(TM) technologies is gaining momentum and will increase as home sales begin to rebound," added Conboy.
Heritage Building and EcoBlu Products were featured on the local NBC news demonstrating how a production builder embraces the sustainability aspects of today's market and still produce a competitive cost conscience home.
