Pirelli will display its latest
products and solutions designed for efficient optical network deployment and
next generation optical network solutions, at OFC (Optical Fiber Communication
Conference and Exhibition) 2005 -- taking place in Anaheim, California (US)
from March 8th to 10th. Pirelli will be exhibiting a wide array of fiber
technology and Fiber to the Access Products (FTTX), as well as innovative
optical components, at its OFC booth -- number 2701.
Pirelli Communications Cables and Systems North America, a leading
provider of Fiber Optic Cable Solutions to customers in North America and
throughout the world, will display a range of products designed to improve the
functional deployment of FTTX solutions. The Pirelli ResiLink family of
products will be on display as well as the full compliment of Outside Plant,
and Premise Products designed for Network Reliability and ease of deployment.
Pirelli Broadband Solutions, a new company of the Pirelli Group focused in
broadband access and photonics solutions for new generation telecommunications
infrastructures, will exhibit its Dynamically Tunable Laser (DTL) for fiber
optic networks. The Tunable Laser DTL-C 13, recently launched in the
telecommunication market worldwide, is a CW external cavity laser for advanced
optical networking systems. It is designed to provide high optical output
power and wavelength tuneability over the entire C-band with very high
spectral purity and frequency stability. The Pirelli Tunable Laser is capable
of replacing over 100 fixed lasers in a traditional fiber optic network.
"Pirelli Tunable Laser is a new generation photonic product recently
developed by Pirelli Labs, the advanced research center of our Group, through
the integrated photonics and nanotechnology competencies of our researchers.
We are confident this development will receive a positive response from the
market as it provides an economic benefit for telecom network operators,
allowing them to optimize their investment and increase their operating
flexibility and profitability," says Pierluigi Franco, Photonic Products
Manager of Pirelli Broadband Solutions.
