PGW Announces Reopening of Automotive Glass Products Facility in Michigan

Pittsburgh Glass Works, LLC (PGW) has announced today that the company will reopen its facility in Evart, Mich. This is the result of increased demand for automotive glass products.

The plant was originally purchased from Chrysler Corporation in 1998 by PPG Industries Inc. PGW purchased PPG - Automotive Glass in September 2008 and then elected to discontinue operations at the Evart facility in 2009. This was due to excess capacity which was not expected to improve in the foreseeable future.

PGW will begin preparation to initiate new operations at the Evart facility immediately and expects to begin production prior to the end of the third quarter of this year. The Evart plant will produce tempered side windows for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive industry.
