Leading analytical X-ray instrument manufacturer, PANalytical, will show its new Epsilon 3 benchtop X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometers at this year's Pittcon 2011 conference and expo (13-18 March, Atlanta, USA). Combining the latest excitation and detection technology with state-of-the-art analysis software, the Epsilon 3 instruments offer analytical performance that can match, and in some cases surpass, that of larger, more powerful spectrometers.
Other innovations to be featured by PANalytical at Pittcon 2011 include:
- Empyrean: high-performance, multi-purpose X-ray diffraction (XRD) system that incorporates the PIXcel3D detector, a 3D detection system. Able to handle all sample types: powders, thin films, nanomaterials and solid objects, and the only XRD system capable of producing computed tomography (CT) images of solid objects.
- X'Pert Powder: the latest addition to the X'Pert PRO family of X-ray diffractometers. High-speed, high-quality phase identification and quantification of polycrystalline materials in an affordable package.
- Axios : an economical low-power (1 kW), high-performance WDXRF system. The rugged reliability and accuracy you expect from PANalytical.
- Eagon 2: a fully automatic benchtop dual fused bead preparation system.
- SST-max50 tube: the most advanced XRF tube in the world. Incorporates a 50 µm beryllium window in combination with PANalytical's revolutionary CHI-BLUE coating.
In 2011 PANalytical is further strengthening its technology advantage. Delivering faster analysis, more powerful and flexible solutions, and improved system uptime remain the company's goal. This year's achievements already include: the acquisition of the XRF laboratories and calibration standard production facility from the British Geological Survey - BGS (Keyworth, United Kingdom); organizing the 2011 Building Materials Analysis (BMA) Workshop (28-30 March, Halle, Germany); developing and expanding the company's production and manufacturing facilities in Almelo and Eindhoven in the Netherlands; and the opening of new offices with demonstration laboratory and meeting space in Houston, Texas and São Paulo, Brazil.
