Chicago, Illinois-based metal processor and distributor, Ryerson acquires Singer Steel. Singer Steel is a value-added processor of flat rolled steel using modern equipment, which is headquartered in Streetsboro, Ohio.
This is the fourth acquisition of Ryerson in the last 14 months. The other three acquisitions are Texas Steel Processing in January 2010, Cutting Edge Metal Processing in May 2010 and SFI-Gray Steel in August 2010. The purchase of the value-added steel processor signifies part of Ryerson's continuing initiative to enhance product and service portfolio.
