Provider of large-format battery solutions, Dow Kokam has declared that it will deliver its sophisticated lithium-ion technology to eCAMION, provider of sustainable energy solutions, for a utility project in Canada endorsed by the Sustainable Development Technology of Canada.
The patented lithium-ion battery cells will be used with the battery pack design of eCAMION to offer three high energy density and lightweight energy storage systems with an energy output of 250 kW. The technology also integrates the University of Toronto Centre for Applied Power Electronics’ power management solution that offers power transmission in real time between the smart grid and energy storage units.
The energy storage systems will be integrated in the distribution network of electricity. A major distribution firm located in Ontario will test the lithium-ion battery storage system, which will endorse sustainable electricity deployments, while enhancing power durability and accessibility in the smart grid network.
Dow Kokam’s batteries have demonstrated over 10 years of superior performance in challenging applications. These batteries are used as the main energy source for ultra performance devices utilized in utility, high-end industrial products, defense, aerospace, marine and transportation industries.
