Tessenderlo Kerley, an Arizona-based company that manufactures and distributes specialty chemicals such as crop protection chemicals, process chemicals and fertilizers to different markets in Mexico, South and Central America, UK, U.S. and specific European countries, has planned to add an ammonium thiosulfate production plant to its existing facility in Burley, Idaho. The plant is expected to commence operations within the 18 months.
Tessenderlo Kerley’s CEO, Jordan Burns stated that the Burley manufacturing facility is part of the company’s strategy to use its current sites and assets. The expansion initiative will help in solving market issues in the ammonium thiosulfate industry and will also enable the company to address important and expensive logistical concerns in northern California and the Pacific Northwest markets.
Tessenderlo Kerley has also planned to design and build a new sulfur processing facility, which will produce ammonium thiosulfate for northern California and the Pacific Northwest market.
Currently, the Burley-based plant manufactures metam sodium and the site has received the OSHA STAR Voluntary Protection Program status.
