Air Products has declared that it will expand its nitrogen pipeline and increase the manufacturing capacity of ultra high-pure oxygen and nitrogen in Chandler, Arizona, in order to fulfill the demand from regional electronics market.
Since 1981, Air Products has been supplying nitrogen from its Chandler pipeline to local semiconductor producers. The air separation facilities, which also manufacture products for the bulk liquid market in Chandler, supply nitrogen to the pipeline.
The Electronics business of Air Products first supplied nitrogen to the Silicon Valley. Now, the company’s pipeline networks are passing through major science parks in Korea, China and Taiwan, delivering nitrogen at high volumes as well as sophisticated fabs for production of TFT-LCD and semiconductors
The Vice President and General Manager of Air Products’ Electronics business, Corning Painter commented that the company has been assisting the Chandler electronics industry for the last three decades and is happy about the increased production capacity to serve the growing market. The company is pleased to own and operate nitrogen pipelines in major electronics markets across the world, he added.
