IBC Advanced Alloys, a manufacturer and distributor of beryllium based alloys and associated products, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC, a subsidiary of Kazatomprom and one of the world’s leading beryllium processing and rare metal manufacturing plants, to extend their relationship and enhance beryllium alloy business.
The MOU enables extension and renewal of multi-year agreements between IBC and Ulda for the supply of beryllium master and beryllium metal alloys. The companies have also decided to study business and technological advancement programs to improve their individual beryllium alloys and rare metals business.
Under the terms of the MOU, both companies will investigate and identify new business opportunities for complementary rare metals like niobium and tantalum. They will examine and develop equally beneficial opportunities in upstream resource exploration, development, manufacturing and distribution.
IBC’s President and CEO, Anthony Dutton stated that the company is happy to collaborate with Ulba and desires to further expand its relationship. The MOU is a key component for the growth of both the parties in the worldwide beryllium and rare metals market, he said.
