The Engineering Division of the Linde Group, and SBM Offshore, project partner, have collaborated with PTTEP Australasia and PTT FLNG to jointly develop floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) plant in Northern Australia.
The facility will have an annual production capacity of about two million tons of LNG. The LNG will be produced from three gas fields groups such as Southern, Oliver and Cash/Maple fields. In March 2011, the initial studies for this project have been commenced and if the gas resources meet the expectations, the front-end engineering and design research will be started in late 2011.
The Linde Group’s Engineering Unit will construct the topsides of the FPSOs using its innovative natural gas liquefaction technology. When the project reaches the final investment phase, The Linde Group, PTT FLNG and SBM Offshore have planned to build and operate the FLNG facility. This joint collaboration will help Linde to expand its business in the growing global LNG market.
