EK Water Blocks (EKWB), a specialist in the design and production of acrylic topped water cooling products, has introduced a new Electroless Nickel Plating technique for the water cooling market.
This advancement in water cooling technology represents the company’s commitment to continue breakthrough initiatives for producing whole water cooling systems and water blocks.
The water cooling solutions from EKWB is transparent, which allows UV light and provides an additional aesthetic appearance to the liquid that flows inside a system. But, the major challenge is that the interior of a water block has to meet very high standards compared to a non-transparent cover. Electroless Nickel Plating is a perfect solution for this challenge. It is an auto-catalytic chemical method employed for deposition of a layer of nickel alloy over a solid work material like plastic and metal. The new nickel-plating technique depends on a reducing agent, which reacts with metal ions for depositing the metal.
The advanced nickel plating blocks offer various benefits, including excellent resistance to wear and corrosion and highly adhesive and solderable. Hardness offered by EKWB is greater than electrolytic nickel and similar to hard chrome. The plating provides uniform thickness, which is less than 2 millionths of a millimeter and also offers a very smooth surface.
