INEOS Bio, a bioenergy company, has awarded an industrial gas supply contract to Air Products.
RISM VSA Oxygen Generator
Based on the contract, Air Products will deliver gaseous and liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen and compressed dry air to INEOS Bio’s advanced biofuel facility in Vero Beach, Florida. PRISM VSA Oxygen Generation System will be used to deliver gaseous oxygen. The facility will commence operation in the second quarter of 2012.
The Vero Beach facility has an annual production capacity of 8 Mgal of bio ethanol fuel and also has the capability to generate 6 MW of renewable electricity from wastes such as household, vegetative and yard wastes. Due to this, there is no need to grow crops as a raw material.
Nelson Squires, VP at Air Products’ North America Merchant Gases, stated that the company continues to show interest in supplying industrial gases for advanced biofuels projects and contributes to the growth of the market. The projects support renewable energy and sustainability initiatives of the company.
PRISM Gas Generation Systems from Air Products supply hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen to over 1,500 clients in more than 30 countries globally. The systems serve several markets, including energy production, food processing and packaging, metals processing, non-ferrous metals, electronics, steel and glass.
