Solidia Technologies’ New Platform Revolutionizes Building and Construction Materials Sector

An innovative technology has been introduced by Solidia Technologies for the construction and building materials industry. The technology depends on low temperature solidification, which can control the chemistry and structure during the development of materials with exclusive properties and excellent application performance.

The breakthrough platform also utilizes CO2, a greenhouse gas, as a reactant and this leads to sequestering of CO2 during the production phase.

The new platform enables production of more durable and stronger products ranging from building facades to decorative countertops, which can be utilized in both interior and exterior applications. The products are free from Portland cement and have resin-free bonding. The manufacturing of materials at low temperatures is an additional benefit, as it allows integration of sensors and other electronic parts in to the bulging products.

In addition, the company is working to create alternative materials for concrete. The CO2 sequestration in the production process offers an additional path to develop carbon neutral concrete alternative. Solidia Technologies has decided to collaborate with SIMEC, a global equipment manufacturer, to develop world-class production lines for commercializing the breakthrough technology.

SIMEC’s President, Ampelio Stangherlin commented that the new scientific platform from Solidia Technologies will revolutionize the building and construction materials industry by offering a first-of-its-kind green material.
