US-based company Novagard, specialising in supplying special chemical products that are used in various applications in the medical, industrial, electrical, automotive and building industries has won approval for its NOVAGARD UV 800-260, which will be used by the Underwriters Laboratories in their UL 746E specification. Underwriters Laboratories has chosen this product after a series of tests.
The UL 745E specification has been set up for the purpose of evaluating industrial laminates and materials that are used to fabricate printed circuits and wiring boards on the basis of flammability, thermal properties, physical and electrical properties. These specifications also serve as a guide for manufacturers of materials, safety engineers, end-users of the product and the fabricator. In such a scenario, the NOVAGARD UV 800-260 is the only product to be approved for control boards and printed circuit boards, under the UL 746E.
Tests performed over NOVAGARD UV 800-260 have established that its processing speeds are extremely high. It also uses moisture cure chemistry for the areas of coating that are shadowed. This feature makes it ideal for environments that have high levels of humidity or have extreme temperatures of -70°c-+200°C. Apart from these features, usage of 800-260 does not require a blanket of nitrogen during the process of UV curing since NOVAGARD UV 800-260’s silicon coating is not affected by oxygen. According to the Founder and CEO of Novagard, Michael S. Sylvester, the company’s main strengths are providing customised solutions to its customers and developing innovative products.
