Plastic companies under the American Chemistry Council have launched an initiative named Plastics Make It Possible where they have created a new game challenging people to recycle plastic bottles. The game called, Bin It allows users to throw plastic bottles into recycling bins in the form of animals or cameras.
For every successful throw, the game conveys the number of sleeping bags, t-shirts or sweaters that can be formed through the recycling of plastics. This initiative was launched to mark the America Recycles day, which is celebrated on November 15. The game can be downloaded into the iPod, iPhone and iPad.
While the game uses plastic bottles, general communities use butter tubs or yoghurt cups and many local grocery stores provide special bins for recycling plastic bottles. According to Steve Russell, who is the VP of the Plastics Division of the American Chemistry Council, the organisation is constantly inventing new ways to encourage recycling and promoting awareness and participation in the America Recycles Day. The company also hopes that users will play the game in all locations such as offices, ball games and at homes. The American Chemistry Council consists of leading chemical companies that use chemistry to invent new products and services in order to ensure a healthy and a safe life to people. The organisation also focuses on environmental safety.
