Leading figures from the Oil and Gas industry around the world visited one of the most modern testing facilities in the UK to see the centre of excellence for themselves. Exova Teesside, welcomed industry representatives to its Riverside Park, Cleveland, laboratory.
The facility has undergone a refurbishment with new state-of-the-art testing equipment to meet the growing demand for metallurgy testing.
The major investment ensures the laboratory maintains its position as a centre of excellence for materials testing, metallurgical testing and analytical services, working not only with the Oil and Gas sector, but also serving the power generation and chemical industries.
More than 50 oil and gas representatives from around the world visited the facility to take part in a laboratory tour as well as learning the latest testing techniques from the Exova team in three technical presentations.
Ian Farquharson, operations manager at the Teesside laboratory, said: “We have invested not only to meet an increased demand but also to continue to offer our customers the most innovative testing techniques and equipment for their materials testing requirements.
“It’s been an incredibly successful past 12 months for us in Teesside, working with a number of local firms, through to global oil and gas majors.”
The three technical presentations were delivered by Exova technical experts, Phil Dent, Iltaf Hussain and Paul Chambers, focusing on corrosion, failure investigation and welding respectively. The facility was officially reopened by Exova’s European managing director, Sean Kerr.
