BASF’s Wall Systems business, a company that manufactures stucco, exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS), and water or air-resistive barriers, has announced the launching of a new colorant for projects in need of high color maintenance and strong colors.
Chroma Finish, a technology owned by BASF helps produce the intense, strong colors that are frequently utilized by the companies in order to establish a brand identity. Colors such as bright reds and deep blues can be produced using Chroma Finish, along with fade resistance.
According to Kevin Canale, BASF Wall Systems’ National Color Lab Manager in North America, this new Chroma Finish has formed a new standard for the performance of high chroma color that is being utilized in exterior applications. High-richness color is offered by this Chroma Finish together with resistance to early fading.
This new Chroma Finish uses low volatile organic compound (VOC) and high performance colorant technology that is free from alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO). The 100% acrylic chemistry has ensured long-standing resistance to cracks and flexibility to films. BASF Wall Systems offers resistance to excessive fade, though localized circumstances can affect the permanence of the color.
The portfolio of BASF ranges from plastics, chemicals, crop protection products and performance products to gas and oil. The company’s system solutions and products contribute to maintain resources, and help to enhance the quality of life.
