Tovatech, a distributor of laboratory equipment to Mexico, Canada and the US, has launched a new line of ultra-low temperature freezers, which is extremely useful for clinical lab staff while performing beta tests.
The Nor-Lake Select series of -86⁰C ultra-low temperature freezers are available in three capacities: 18.9, 23.1 and 27.5 cu.ft. They feature adjustable shelving and 5 internal compartments fixed with latched insulated doors. The freezers are also available with optional fiberboard storage boxes, cell dividers and inventory racks.
Dr. Rachel Kohn, Director of Tovatech, stated that their Norlake Scientific Select freezer is currently used by a beta test laboratory to store a large amount of samples on a daily basis due to its rugged construction and exceptionally rapid temperature recovery capability after opening the door. The lab now utilizes Tovatech’s other ultra low freezer units for storing samples that are not controlled on a regular basis, reported Kohn.
The scientific line of freezers can be set at temperatures ranging from 50⁰C to -86⁰C. Typical features of the equipment include 24/7 alarming for door ajar, power failure and ambient and internal temperature. It provides memory functions, alarm test, advanced alarms and event logging alarming history. The Nor-Lake Select freezer includes a door-mounted eye-level programmable logic microprocessor controller (PLC) equipped with a real-time clock. The equipment is also offered with an optional chart recorder for GLP record keeping. In addition, the new line of freezer units from Tovatech includes a pocket organizer for document storage and a door-mounted dry erase board.
