Novelis, a specialist in aluminum rolling and beverage can recycling, has received Environmental Responsibility and Stewardship award from American Metal Market (AMM) at a ceremony in the AMM Aluminum Summit in New York.
This award recognized the company’s commitment towards sustainability. The company resolved to increase the recycled aluminum input material from 33% in 2010 to 80% by 2020, for use in the manufacturing method. The recycled content of the company is presently 39%. Adoption of numerous ambitious targets by the company will enhance the operations’ eco-efficiency. The company is making huge investments in order to increase the potential of recycling process, which also includes over $350 million in the US, Italy, Korea, Germany and Brazil.
Logan Aluminum, which is a joint venture between Tri-Arrows Aluminium and Novelis, was honored with the Aluminum Mill Excellence award. The Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) rated the satisfaction of the customers of Logan Aluminum in five main areas, which included preferred supplier rating and returned goods authorization rate. The facility provides coated and bare end sheet, beverage can body sheet and tab stock and supplies aluminum for the production of over 40% of the aluminum beverage cans in North America.
