New Online Video Demonstrating Isolation of Circulating Tumor Cells from Blood Using NaturalNano’s Halloysite Nanotubes

Nanocomposites developer, NaturalNano . has released an online video that demonstrates the separation of circulating tumor cells (CTC) from blood by employing microtubes which are lined with NaturalNano’s halloysite nanotubes (HNT).

The experiment was conducted by Dr. Michael King, Associate Professor at Cornell University for Biomedical Engineering. Dr. King stated that the development of cell-responsive nanostructure surfaces has been made possible by the ability to develop stable halloysite coatings for microtubes by employing thin layers of poly-L-lysine. He also stated that the experiment’s success could affect numerous other projects pertaining to diagnostic detection and other research on circulating tumor cells in blood.

The video shows the step-by-step method Dr. King adopted to isolate CTCs using halloysite coated microtubes. The process yields tumor cells for culture by capturing the CTCs using polymer microtubes which are coated with HNT followed by a coating of adhesion proteins. James Wemett, CEO of NaturalNano, believes that the video highlights the future prospects of the HNT business to various stakeholders such as researchers, customers, investors and other interested entities. The Company has set up a portal through which researchers can place orders for Halloysite nanotube samples for utilization in research. Insert Video.
