The Teijin Group, a global provider of high-performance fibers, composites, carbon fibers, and other products, has announced that its group companies, Toho Tenax and Teijin Aramid Asia will be exhibiting at the China Composites Expo 2012.
Toho Tenax is a carbon-fiber composites business company based in Tokyo and Teijin Aramid Asia is an aramid-fiber business company based in Shanghai.
Teijin Aramid Asia had earlier launched high-modulus para-aramid fibers in gold color. At the expo, it will be launching two filament yarns that are deep-black versions of these fibers, named as Technora Black and Twaron Black. These fibers are designed for applications that require beauty, low-weight and strength. Sports goods such as hockey sticks, boat sails, and casings for mobile phones require such material. These fibers may also be used for other applications including bearings, gears, ships and for concrete reinforcement.
Toho Tenax will be highlighting the use of carbon fiber reinforced plastics including ultra-lightweight carbon fiber fabrics for advanced applications, such as casings for smartphones and tablets, large-scale model aircraft, automotive diffusers, bicycle wheels and other products.
Aramid fibers and carbon fibers are used as composite materials along with resin for producing lightweight products.
Touted to be Asia’s largest composites exhibition, the China Composites Expo 2012 is scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 September at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. Teijin Aramid Asia will be exhibiting at booth no. 1125, while Toho Tenax will be exhibiting at booth no. 924. Innovative new concepts for the composites will be demonstrated at the two booths.
