Novel Technology to Assess Color Quality of Non-Solid Materials

Datacolor®, a global leader in color management solutions, today announced the launch of Datacolor Viewport™, a first-of-its-kind technology that captures color-accurate product images of non-solid fabrics.

The technology allows for an objective digital color process for traditionally visually assessed material. Designed to meet the needs of product quality control operators and color analysts, Viewport’s accurate imaging technology enables remote visualization and color evaluation for a wide range of products under multiple lights, thus eliminating the need to send physical samples and risking human error while assessing color.

Based on patent-pending technology, Viewport makes it possible to accurately and efficiently control color quality for heather, lace, denim, towels, fabric prints/patterns, wall coverings and a variety of multi-color products, making it particularly well-suited for the textile industry. Datacolor Viewport will speed up the approval process and improve product quality for materials that are currently evaluated visually.
