After multiple joint projects, machine vision experts VITRONIC/Germany and Il-shofen packaging machine manufacturer for the pharmaceu-tical industry Bausch + Ströbel/Germany have entered into a framework agreement for even closer cooperation in the fu-ture.
The close partnership will benefit from Bausch + Ströbel’s approx. 40 years of experience as a packaging machine manufacturer for the pharmaceutical industry and medical technology sector as well as VITRONIC’s almost 30 years of machine vision expertise in standardized single-source solutions for complex processing methods. The aim is to ensure that all their projects are conducted with a single contact and short durations.
Many demanding customer projects have already been jointly completed. For example, thanks to the VITRONIC machine vision systems integrated into the Bausch + Ströbel filling and packaging solutions, it is possible to inspect the quality of crimp caps on vials, even in the high-performance sector.
Further GAMP-related inspections include the correct fitting of the rubber stoppers and the cap colors of the crimp caps. In addition, the auto-ID systems can automatically record 1D/2D codes and characters (OCR) on the top of the caps and the cap casing area.
With several new projects involving global pharmaceutical companies yet ready for implementation, all the signs point toward a successful future. The joint trade fair activities, as at Interpack 2011 and Achema 2012, should also be further developed.
“Our systems complement one another perfectly and can be im-plemented quickly and smoothly. We are simply a ’well-established team’”, states Dietmar Karepin, sales engineer at VITRONIC in confirmation of the successful cooperation. The project managers at Bausch + Ströbel add that “customers greatly value only having to deal with a single contact, who speaks their language, throughout all the packaging and inspection tasks.
