Carbide Industries Completes Purchase of Carbide/Graphite Business Unit

Following the Chapter 11 restructuring of Carbide/Graphite Group, the sale of their Carbide Products Business Unit has been completed. Carbide Industries, a newly formed private company has purchased all the operating assets of this business unit.

Carbide Industries was formed for the express purpose of purchasing this business. They will continue operating from the Kentucky plants, producing calcium carbide and acetylene products.

Under the new ownership, the company will be able to forge ahead and establish long term business relationships now that their future is more secure.
