LG Solar Unveils New High-Performance Module, Mono X NeoN

LG Electronics takes the next big step in its sustainability strategy: The solar specialist introduces its new high-performance module for 2013: the Mono XTM NeoN module. The module, based on N-type cells, provides 20 percent more output than the previous reference module Mono X and makes the mounting process easier for installers, thanks to its reduced weight and improved assembly mechanisms.

LG achieves a peak performance of 280 to 300 watts per 60-cell module as a result of various in-house improvements. The focus is on the bi-facial cell, which also captures the light reflected from the back sheet onto the cell back side, resulting in an increase not only in the light yield, but also in the energy and financial return for the solar power user.

Long-term investment
Due to the double anti-reflective coatings on each cell, the use of anti-reflective glass, the reduction of the temperature coefficient and the use of bi-facial cells, LG was able to once again increase the efficiency of its modules to 18 percent. The monocrystalline high-performance module consists of 6 cells by 10 and has an overall size of 164 x 100 x 3.5 cm, weighing 16.8 kg. But it’s not only the lighter weight that makes assembly smoother for installers; the new cable management system makes it even simpler to connect all of the modules. With a pressure load of 5,400 Pascals and a black, anodised aluminium frame, the Mono XTM NeoN is extremely resistant and perfectly equipped for stormy weather. Furthermore, the new high-gloss look of the module is sure to be a delight for those who appreciate great designs. In addition to the solely positive output tolerance, LG’s long-term, reliable warranty services are further proof of the extraordinary quality. LG Solar provides a 10-year product guarantee and a 25-year linear performance guarantee for its solar modules.

“The Mono XTM NeoN module is an important milestone in the path towards a viable source of renewable energy, especially for end-consumers in Germany”, says Michael Harre, Vice President of EU Solar Business Group at LG Electronics. “We will continue to invest consistently in R&D in order to bring high-quality solar technology to the market, thus contributing to the overall energy supply and making customers more independent from fluctuations in electricity prices.
