Directors from Birmingham-based metalweb will be representing its parent company, Reliance Steel & Aluminum, at an industry awards ceremony as the firm has been announced as a finalist in two categories.
Reliance, parent company of metalweb, has been shortlisted at this year’s Platts Global Metals Awards ‘Deal of the Year’ category, relating to its acquisition of Metals USA in April 2013, and ‘Metals Mover of the Year’ in recognition of the volume of tonnes moved by the group in 2013.
Derek Webb, director at metalweb, said: “It’s an honour to represent Reliance at this prestigious award ceremony. The shortlists go a long way in commending and recognising the work of the entire Reliance family, both in the UK and overseas, and are a great achievement for everyone within the Reliance Group.”
The ceremony is taking place on 21st May at Plaisterers' Hall, London.
