IDTechEx Awards Recognise Emerging Technology Development and Success

The IDTechEx Show! in Berlin in April is on track to be the biggest yet. One of the highlights of the show is the prestigious awards ceremony which recognises innovation, success and development across six key industry technologies. Entries for the awards are still welcomed with the closing date of 18th March and all companies operating within the technology sectors outlined below are eligible to apply.

Raghu Das, CEO at IDTechEx encourages entrants saying, “The success of this unique awards programme is down to the outstanding quality of the entrants and we encourage companies to submit applications to gain due recognition for their dedication and commitment to growing these emerging technologies. These most sought after awards have become a highlight of the IDTechEx Show! and we are excited to see this year’s entrants”.

Each category will be judged independently by representatives from global industry leading companies such as The Coca-Cola Company, Jaguar Land Rover, Google, Toyota Motor Europe and Philips Lighting Research amongst others. Entrants can enter one or more of the following categories:

Printed Electronics

  • Technical Development
  • Materials Award
  • Best Academic R&D Award
  • Best Product Award

3D Printing

  • Best Development in 3D Printing

Wearable Technology

  • Best New Wearable Technology Device
  • Best New Material or Component Development

Energy Harvesting & Storage

  • Best Technical Development within Energy Harvesting and Storage

Electric Vehicles

  • Most significant innovation
  • Most impressive new company

Internet of Things

  • Best IoT Technology Development

Last year’s winners included Best New Wearable Technology Device - Bainisha’s body motion capture system using a micron thick functional skin patch and Best New Material or Component Development – Alta Devices flexible, single-junction solar cell with the world’s highest efficiency.

The closing date for the awards is Friday 18th March 2016 and an application form can be downloaded here. The winners will be announced and awards presented at a gala drinks reception on 27th April at the Estrel Hotel, Berlin.
