TWI’s commitment to support businesses seeking to exploit additive manufacturing (AM) technology has been underscored by a well-attended industry event and the launch of a dedicated AM website.
The TWI Additive Manufacturing Symposium on 1 November saw around 100 delegates from across industry gather at TWI’s Great Abington headquarters to learn about TWI’s AM activities and find out how the technology could benefit their business.
A packed agenda included presentations from key personnel involved with AM within TWI, as well as industry speakers from companies including Lloyd’s Register and Renishaw. The programme provoked much open discussion of AM-related issues, and was supported by a number of networking opportunities.
Feedback from the event suggested TWI demonstrated ‘far more understanding than expected’ and fielded ‘excellent’ speakers. More events with an AM focus are planned for the future – details will be revealed in due course.
